These are the required documents/steps to onboard in la quinta 

Permit Types & Fees:

New Application:

Do you want to apply for a new STVR permit? Please follow the steps below:

  1. Verify that your property is eligible for a new STVR permit by contacting staff at VacationLQ@LaQuintaCA.gov by providing the property address.
  2. If your property is verified to be eligible, staff will provide instructions on how to set-up your online account and apply for a STVR permit and business license. 

Homeshare - Homeshare STVR permit is the type of permit when the owner hosts visitor's while the owner lives on-site throughout the visitor's stay.

  • Homeshare Permit - Less than 5 bedrooms = $258 per year
  • Homeshare Permit - 5 bedrooms or more = $508 per year

Primary - Primary STVR permit is the type of permit when the STVR property is verified by staff as the owner's primary residence but rents the property periodically throughout the year.

  • Primary Permit - Less than 5 bedrooms = $758 per year
  • Primary Permit - 5 bedrooms or more = $1,258 per year

General - General STVR permit is the type of permit if the STVR property is the owner's second home or investment property and it is used as an STVR unit.

  • General Permit - Less than 5 bedrooms = $1,008 per year
  • General Permit - 5 bedrooms or more = $1,258 per year

General (mitigated) - General (mitgated) STVR permit is the same as a General permit AND is located within one of the following residential projects subject to mitiagtion fees:

  1. La Quinta Desert Villas (Homewood Suites)
  2. Legacy Villas
  3. Puerta Azul
  4. Signature at PGA West
  • General (mitigated) - Less than 5 bedrooms = $258 per year
  • General (mitigated) - 5 bedrooms or more = $508 per year

 Permit Renewal:

Do you already have a STVR permit? Access your STVR account to renew your permit, pay TOT, print your STVR permit and business license and MUCH MORE!

STVR permit renewals are automatically available in your online account 60 days prior to your STVR permit expiration date. 

 

Before reporting a complaint, please verify if the property is permitted as a short-term vacation rental (STVR) by checking the Weekly Active & Suspended STVR Property List using the property address.

For permitted STVRs, the City provides residents with two options to report possible STVR violations:

  • 24/7 STVR Hotline - (760) 777-7157 - used to report possible STVR violations currently occurring; complaints can be submitted anonymously. 

  • Email your complaint - CodeComplianceMail@LaQuintaCA.govThis email is not monitored 24/7 and complaints submitted here will be addressed on the next business day. If immediate assistance is needed, please call (760) 777-7157.

 

If the property is NOT a permitted STVR, please contact City Code Compliance during normal business hours at (760) 777-7050 or contact the Non-Emergency Police Dispatch at (760) 836-3215, Ext. 5, if it is after-hours.
