Long Term Reservations - Last Minute Verification Process

This document outlines the procedure for verifying the ID and credit cards of new guests. This verification is required for reservations of 29 nights or more that are booked and begin within 14 days.

Purpose

To mitigate the risk of last-minute reservation fraud and prevent unauthorized occupancy.

Scope

This process applies only to new guests with reservations of 29 nights or longer and checking in within 14 days of booking.

Exclusions

Returning guests are not required to go through this verification process.

Any platform that collects payments (ie: Airbnb, Marriott, Plum Guide, Hyatt, Expedia) are not required to go through this verification process.

Verification Procedures

ID Verification

  • Method: Utilize the Akia platform, which requests both a valid ID and a selfie from the guest. This method is sufficient for ID verification.

Credit Card Verification

Choose one of the following methods:

  1. Google Meet Video Call: Schedule a Google Meet session where the guest can visually present their credit card for verification.
  2. In-Person Verification:
    • During Business Hours: The guest can visit the office to present their credit card for verification.
    • After Business Hours: An Acme employee will arrange to meet the guest at their accommodation the following day to complete the credit card verification.
  3. Concierge
    • Use this option as last resort - This will cost Acme House Company is we use this option.
