- Large Pools: $60 per day
How to Request Pool Heating for an Owner or Guest of Owner Stay
To ensure your pool is heated prior to your arrival. We do not turn on your Pool Heat automatically for Owner or Guest of Owner Stays to avoid unnecessary utiliy fees.
- Please notify us at least 48 hours in advance.
- Pool heating requests made after check-in will be activated the following day, as it takes 24 hours to bring the pool up to the desired temperature.
How We Help Our Owners
We continuously optimize pool heating procedures to enhance energy efficiency and reduce costs while maintaining guest satisfaction. Here’s a summary of the key updates:
-
Reducing Pool Heat Temperature from 85°F to 83°F on Arrival
- By setting the default pool heat temperature at 83°F upon arrival, we significantly reduce heater runtime by an average of 8–15%, depending on pool size.
- Guests who request the pool temperature to be increased to 85°F during their stay receive this adjustment complimentary. This change strikes a balance between energy savings and guest comfort.
-
Additional Pool Heat Charges for Higher Temperatures
- Guests who wish to heat the pool above 85°F can do so for an additional fee of $10 per degree per day.
- For example, if a guest requests the pool be heated to 90°F, the charge is $50/day (5 extra degrees × $10/day).
-
Non-Commissioned Heating Fees on New Bookings
- We have successfully implemented non-commissioned heating fees, which increase utility fee income for owners by an average of 106%.

Introducing Pool Heat Blocks
To provide flexibility and savings for longer-term stays, we now offer Pool Heat Blocks:
- Guests can purchase pool heating in increments of 2 nights/3 days.
- This allows them to heat the pool for the weekend without paying for unused days during the week, reducing both guest costs and owners’ utility bills.
Updated Operating Models for Pool Heating
We have developed two seasonal operating models based on pool temperatures to optimize energy use:
Plan #1: Day Prior to Arrival (Mid-November to Mid-February)
-
- Pool heating begins at 8:00 AM the day before arrival if the pool temperature is 59°F or lower.
- This ensures the pool reaches the desired temperature by the guest’s arrival.
Plan #2: Day of Arrival (Mid-February to Mid-April & Mid-September to Mid-November)
-
- Pool heating starts at 8:00 AM on the day of arrival if the pool temperature is 60°F or higher.
- This reduces heater runtime by 20% over a typical 4-night stay during these months, without compromising guest satisfaction.
Benefits of the Updated Heating Models
- Energy Savings: We reduce heater runtime by 20% and pool filter operation by 22% (from 18 hours/day to 14 hours/day).
- Consistent Comfort: Pools are consistently heated to 80–83°F by check-in time at 3:00 PM.
- Lower Costs: Optimizing heater and filter runtimes saves gas and electricity during spring and summer months.
Remote Access System and Controller Requirements
These updates are only available for owners with a remote access system (e.g., AquaLink or Pentair) and a 4-button remote controller.
- If you don’t already have this setup, we can assist with installation through a preferred provider. Costs range from $750 to $1,500 depending on the system and situation.
- Installations can be billed through a debit to future rental income.
