With Task Messaging, your team can subscribe a guest or homeowner's phone number with a task so they automatically receive text updates when a task has been created, is scheduled (or re-scheduled), started, and finished.
When creating a task, toggle the 'Send text update' option next to Service Request and input the preferred phone number. If you are creating a task from the conversation in your Messaging inbox, it will pre-load with the phone number of the guest/owner.
Task Messages
Once a phone number is subscribed to a task, the recipient will receive the following messages:
Task has been created, but not scheduled
Task has been scheduled: This message is sent once a task is scheduled, or if a task is created and the due date is set prior to task creation.
Task has been re-scheduled: This message is sent if the task due date changes
Task has been started/completed
The user who starts the task will be named in the initial email. Once the task is completed, the recipient will receive a notification when the job is complete.
Enabling Task Messaging
From the Messaging module, select 'Auto Messages', then 'Tasks'.
The Tasks page will show all automated task messages that have been sent. Similar to the Stays messages, if the recipient replies, then the message will be in your Inbox.
You must first enable Task Messages to be able to subscribe a user and have Task Messages sent. In the top right corner, select 'Templates' to view samples of the messages that will be sent when someone is subscribed to a task (note: enabling the templates does still allow you to select who you subscribe to a task). Note: these messages are not currently editable.
